Create The Change Durham!

Welcome to Create the Change Durham!

Believing that democratic participation involves more than casting a ballot, we want to find meaningful opportunities for continued progressive activism by everyone who has been engaged and inspired to take part in political activity by the fact of Barack Obama’s candidacy.

We need everyone's continued involvement to create the change we deserve.

In the next two months, help make it happen:

>> Sign up for door to door canvassing to survey our neighbors so that we can assess our community needs and priorities.
>> Help plan a people’s agenda summit for January '09
>> Continue to use creative ways to make a difference

Take the Survey Right Now!

Sounds like an interesting idea. However, I don't see where to the the "SURVEY' now is located

Downtown needs a grocery shop to buy food 7 days a week. Also, a deli would be very nice. This would decrease the carbon footprint of the residents.

Great idea. Let's do it. Where is the survey?

Thank you for your tireless effort to make a positive impact in our community and country, Gunther and Faulkner.

Like others, I cannot locate the survey.

One idea I had was if there was any campeign money left was to offer free reusable shopping bags, possibly in exchange for completing a survey.

Thank you,
Matt DesVoigne

It is great that there is an effort to take advantage of the energy generated from the Campaign for Change. There are so many issues in the Durham communtiy that it is hard to pin down any one overriding issue. I will voice some of those however in the survey. Some friends mentioned a downtown "Walk for Change" each Saturday with some cooperation and coordination with downtown merchants and businesses. It could include a walk around the downtown area and to Central Park. I believe this could be a part of stressing a healthier lifestyle through exercise. Maybe adding an education component.
Keep me posted.

Perita - that's a neat idea. I would like to see the walk for change take place all over Durham, not just downtown. Perhaps vary the location on different weekends.
